Winton Legends to play in Butterfly Club Charity football match
Football legends from Ardrossan and Belfast to play in charity football match this Sunday [October 17] to raise money for mental health and a new wheelchair as part of their fundraising efforts.
The Butterfly Club Challenge Trophy football match will see Winton Rovers Legends take on the Belfast Glentoran FC Legends team at Winton pitch.
Kicking off at 1 p.m., the event will raise funds to divide two causes; The Butterfly Club to help a young person who needs a new power pack for their wheelchair, and the Beautiful Inside & Out charity, which provides assistance and support to people with mental health issues and contributes also to suicide prevention.
Persimmon Homes West Scotland is the main sponsor of the Butterfly Club Challenge Trophy football match. Thanks to generous funding from Persimmon Homes’ Community Champions program, the organizers were able to organize the event.
Derek Cook, on behalf of Persimmon Homes, told the Herald: “This year we plan to help two causes; a young person in need of a new wheelchair power pack and the Beautiful Inside & Out charity, which provides assistance and support to people with mental health issues and also helps prevent suicide. ”
Kicks off at 1 p.m., with live music from The Best Bad Influence at 2:30 p.m. and an earlier youth tournament starting at 10 a.m.
